- Google DeepMind announces Genie 4, its most realistic and interactive world model: steer scenes in real time with natural language (events, camera, weather, new characters), with natively generated audio including ambient sound, music and real-time character dialogue; Gemini models provide reasoning for multi-step events, scenes stay consistent for about two minutes (double Genie 3), and outputs carry SynthID. It is a research preview for trusted testers, coming to Google AI Ultra in Project Genie and early-access Gemini API / AI Studio partners; Google admits details still drift over long sessions. 17K+ likes. - Anthropic shares early results from using Claude in drug discovery: over the past few months its scientists partnered with six organizations developing new medicines, and it has started in-house drug discovery; per the blog summary, Claude generated about 35K antibody designs in roughly a month, coordinated 11 outside labs for a one-person biotech and caught 7 manufacturing issues human reviewers missed. The work is mostly preclinical, with an in-house program that could reach human trials as soon as late 2028. 6.7K likes, 2.1K bookmarks. X @AnthropicAI
Baoyu: Axiom used dozens of AI agents to verify the Classification of Finite Simple Groups in Lean in 24 days: the ~15,000-page proof spread over 500+ papers was rewritten as about 43.1M lines of machine-checkable code; the theorem holds, but the AI found a counterexample to a claim cited in Walter’s 1986 proof of the Unbalanced Group Theorem, and with guidance from original contributors Lyons and Solomon, Axiom’s AI wrote a new proof (a 35-page paper) to patch it. The rest were mostly typo-level issues; Lean guarantees the derivation, but whether the theorem statement is faithfully translated still needs human review, and there is no external independent check yet.
- Google’s TPUs will run on a hyperscale cloud outside Google for the first time, via Oracle: Oracle deploys capacity from calendar 2027 and supplies power, cooling and networking, linking TPU clusters to Oracle databases and storage; Google claims 8th-gen TPUs deliver up to 12.6 PFLOPS FP4 per chip, and its open-source TorchTPU stack runs existing PyTorch code plus vLLM and SGLang without model rewrites. Tips & Hands-on
Baoyu: Anthropic engineering manager Felix Rieseberg drops coding questions from interviews — “hunger beats tenure”: Claude now does these better than people; his five tips for newcomers: focus on business impact, pick one bold idea, build a prototype in a weekend, keep one good idea per prototype, and use your fresh perspective; the Claude Code desktop app started as two new hires’ weekend prototype and shipped about eight days later. 400 likes, 420+ bookmarks.
Baoyu: Anthropic platform engineering lead Katelyn Lesse on four engineering problems for thousands of collaborating agents: scheduling (agents are stateful with unpredictable idle time, a poor fit for Kubernetes; see Google’s open-source Agent Substrate), identity and authorization (short-lived credentials help, authorization is largely unsolved), isolation (one prompt-injected agent can infect peers via shared memory, so strict sandboxes), and audit plus a kill switch (tamper-proof logs and one-step shutdown).
meng shao: notes from Hugging Face’s in-person “how industry trains agents” sessions: a sequel to the Training Agents course (trajectory SFT → distillation → GRPO → RL environments); takeaways include evaluating “model + harness + ops” rather than the bare model, agents in RL finding reference answers in the sandbox or tampering with graders, only ~800 fairly clean environments left after filtering ~90K public RL environments, and ~1% of hackable tasks polluting a whole training run. Slides and course are free.
meng shao: the open-source “ai-app-playbook” has coding agents build profitable consumer AI apps on a fixed stack: human-facing chapters 00–13 plus an AGENTS.md for agents (Phases 0–14, each step tagged [AGENT]/[HUMAN], with a seven-dimension Gate A score before building), a fixed stack of Cloudflare + Better Auth + OpenRouter→DeepSeek and more, and a long “don’t use” list; clone it and point Claude Code / OpenCode at AGENTS.md.
